Mississauga Christmas Lights in Port Credit

Holiday celebrations are held in WinterIN the Port in December and January. Christmas decorations and lighting are installed along Port Credit’s Main Street starting in mid-November (Lakeshore Road). There are illuminated trees, as well as beautifully lit reindeer and snowmen.
Early in December, there is a ceremony to light the lighthouse annually. The lighthouse stays illuminated throughout the holiday season after the ceremony. The small display at the lighthouse’s base contains some of Mississauga’s best holiday decorations. You could catch the “Strolling Santa” event on the Saturdays before Christmas. There will be numerous photo opportunities with Santa Claus as he strolls down Main Street.
The “Frosty Finale” event, which will take place on January 29 this year, the final day of Winter IN the Port, will feature live music, an outdoor cocktail bar, children’s games and activities, wood carving demonstrations, strolling ice characters, and other attractions. As you’ll see, this year Port Credit is hosting a large number of Mississauga Christmas events. Parking in Port Credit is free from the end of November to the middle of January. This aids in sustaining local small businesses. Due to the lack of parking fees, it encourages people to visit.
Please Note: We’re still waiting to find out if this event will take place in Christmas 2022 in Mississauga. Every year, Christmas and winter festivities are held in Port Credit. Remain tuned!
Mississauga Christmas Lights at Journey Into Enchantment

One of the biggest Christmas drive-through events in the Greater Toronto Area is Journey Into Enchantment. It’s taking place in two places, one of which is the Meadowvale GO Station in Mississauga. While driving through this 2 km display, there are more than 2 million twinkling Christmas lights, 3D interactive displays, and music. One of the standouts is a drive-through tunnel of lights, and you can listen to Christmas music on their special radio station. One of the most beautiful Mississauga Christmas lights displays you can see during the holidays is this one.
Mississauga Christmas in the Village (Streetsville)

The Mississauga community of Streetsville holds its yearly Christmas event as part of its village celebration. The Mississauga Christmas event is one of the best. This year, it took place on November 18 and 19. It’s a wonderful way to start the holiday season. The opening ceremonies, which feature Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and the lighting of the festival’s tree take place on a Friday night. A live band is also featured on Friday night.
Experience a holiday market that features 25 local vendors on both, Friday and Saturday, along with free maple taffy. On both days, there is also an ice slide with toboggans. On Saturday, the main events last all day and into the evening. A Holiday Express Train, kid-friendly crafts, and taking selfies with Mr. Claus himself.

This year, on December 4, the Erin Mills Auto Centre hosted the Mississauga Santa Claus Parade. Spectacular floats, musical performances, local celebrities, and a visit from Santa Claus helped the visitors get into the holiday spirit. The parade’s route follows Glen Erin Drive, Motorway Boulevard, Woodchester Drive, and Dunwin Drive. Road closures were in full effect, so that affected a bit of the merriment.
Mississauga Christmas Markets
This year, there are a number of Mississauga Christmas Markets offering regional and handmade goods. These are wonderful places that will help you get in the holiday spirit and find presents for your loved ones, even though they aren’t the traditional European Christmas markets. More Things to Do in Mississauga Christmas
Here are a few more ideas if you’re looking for more Christmas things to do in the city of Mississauga in December. Despite the cold, December is a fantastic month to travel to Mississauga. In addition to Christmas events, the city offers a wide variety of sights and activities.
Outdoors and Winter Hikes in Mississauga
We advise going to a hockey game if you’re looking for something entertaining to do in Mississauga. The Mississauga Steelheads of the OHL are based in Mississauga, and you can watch their games at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre. Attend the games if you want to support the home team because they are incredibly exciting to watch.
We were fortunate to be there for the ninth annual Teddy Bear Toss. Fans throw stuffed animals and other plush toys onto the ice whenever the Steelheads score their first goal. The toys are all given to underprivileged kids as holiday gifts. The back of an entire pickup truck could have been completely filled with teddies this time!
In Mississauga, there are so many wonderful hiking trails and outdoor areas to discover. I advise taking a stroll along one of the many stunning trails in Mississauga. Erindale Park serves as the hub for a number of fantastic paths and has a toboggan hill. Rattray Marsh Conservation Area offers picturesque boardwalk trails by Lake Ontario.
Where to Stay in Mississauga: The Waterside Inn
The Waterside Inn is a fantastic place to spend the night if you’re looking to see the Mississauga Christmas lights. This hotel is conveniently situated in Port Credit, in the heart of the action. From this lodging, it is simple to walk anywhere in the city.
A different bedroom, living room, and full kitchen are all included in the apartment-style rooms at the Waterside Inn. The rooms have sizable balconies from which you can enjoy stunning aerial views of Lake Ontario. I heartily recommend waking up early to watch the sunrise from your balcony (bundle up if you’re traveling to Mississauga in December!).
